The Role:
This Transport Supervisor opportunity is with a well-established retail business based in Doncaster, operating within a fast-moving distribution environment where service and operational control are key. The business is looking for a hands-on Transport Supervisor who can support the day-to-day running of the transport operation, lead from the front and help maintain high standards across performance, compliance and customer service. You'll be heavily involved with the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain operation, ensuring transport and warehouse functions remain aligned. This role would suit someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving problems quickly and keeping operations running smoothly in a busy environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervising the day-to-day transport operation across drivers and fleet activity
- Supporting route planning and ensuring deliveries are completed OTIF
- Managing driver briefings, debriefs and daily operational issues
- Monitoring compliance across drivers' hours, WTD and vehicle checks
- Working closely with warehouse and wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams
- Supporting KPI tracking and identifying operational improvements
- Maintaining high standards of communication, safety and customer service throughout the operation
Key experience:
- Previous experience in a Transport Supervisor or transport team leadership role
- Background within retail, distribution or a fast-paced logistics environment
- Good understanding of transport compliance and operational procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage drivers effectively
- Comfortable working within a wider Logistics distribution and supply chain operation
