An established manufacturing business supplying technically demanding products to industrial and OEM customers is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing and production planning. This is a senior, hands-on role for a proven manufacturing leader with strong operational discipline and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve on-time, right-first-time delivery.
- Own production planning, capacity management, and resource allocation.
- Embed lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement as standard practice.
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
- Ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime through effective maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with ISO and customer-specific quality standards.
- Manage procurement, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, and material availability.
- Oversee logistics and dispatch to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards across the site.
- Lead, coach, and develop production teams to build capability and accountability.
- Monitor operational KPIs and deliver measurable performance improvements.
- Support new product introduction and process scalability initiatives.
Key Experiences
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or similar (preferred).
- 10+ years' experience in manufacturing operations manager, ideally in precision engineering, electronics, or similar environments.
- Strong track record of improving quality, delivery, efficiency, and cost.
- Solid knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and ISO 9001.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems for production planning.
- Hands-on, visible leader with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
