As a key player in the industry, they pride themselves on a commitment to delivering excellence service, now seeking a Senior Transport General Manager to own the end-to-end group sector Transport function. Key Responsibilities: As the Senior Transport General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing end to end operations, leading multi-site Transport operations. Your responsibilities will include: Managing a Transport team of over 300 employees across key DC locations, encompassing over 500+ vehicles. Lead the National Planning agenda through a team of 6 planning experts. Assume responsibility for the Transport Health & Safety, Driver Training & Risk Assessors. Responsible for an annual budget of c. £50m per year. Lead all operational H&S, Compliance and Fleet Maintenance agendas across the National Transport operations. Ensuring seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and Continuous Improvement perspective within an Open Book environment. Implementing best practices whilst ensuring sufficient usage of the TMS & Planning platforms. To help support and develop individuals, provide developmental opportunities within the business. Qualifications: The successful candidate for the Senior Transport General Manager position will possess: A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background – Essential. A CPC National / International qualification, demonstrating your deep understanding of transportation regulations – Essential. 5+ Years Transport General Management experience within a 3PL / FMCG or Retail environment – Essential. Proven experience in managing Open / Closed Book operations consisting of headcount north of +250, and 400+ assets – Essential. Previous budget management of +£30m – Essential. A true passion for people development, providing excellent service and Continuous Improvement. Proven experience in dealing with Unions – Advantageous. A proven history of strong leadership abilities, whilst fostering a culture of excellence and an ability to identify and develop talent within – Essential. Lean Six Sigma / Prince2 accreditations – Advantageous. Commutable to the Staffordshire and surrounding areas 4- 5 days per week – Essential. Salary & Package: Salary – £80,000 to £90,000. Company Bonus Scheme (20%). 25 Days + 8 Bank Holidays. Pension Contributions. Private Medical Insurance. Death in Service Cover. Plus additional company benefits.
