A leading global 3PL contract logistics provider is actively sourcing an experienced Warehouse biased General Manager with reputable experience across 3PL operations or fast-paced Retail / E-Commerce. This is an urgent requirement with a go-live pending; therefore, a candidate available at a reduced or immediate notice period would be looked upon favourably.

The Warehouse Site General Manager will play a critical role in designing, maintaining and leading all site-based activity across what will be a key UK DC operation in Rugby, Warwickshire. This position is a truly exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the UK Logistics Director.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all operational activities, including warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement and projects.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, collective site operational team (up to 700+ employees) through managerial direct reports.
  • Build and maintain a strong customer relationship base, ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage the operational site budget in excess of +£30m, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining service & quality.
  • Continue to evolve the site's approach to KPI's, whilst ensuring new site standardisation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practice.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the business appetite to drive innovation, Automation & Robotics along with the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the UK commercial customer relationship, along with key suppliers and third-party service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
The Candidate
  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential.
  • A minimum of 5+ years General Manager / Senior General Manager / Regional General Manager / Head of Operations or even Operations Director experience - Essential.
  • Proven 3PL Warehousing experience required - Advantageous.
  • Exposure to successful & sizeable start-up operations - Advantageous.
  • Previous budgetary responsibility across medium to large sized DC operations in excess of +£30m - Essential.
  • Awareness of Semi-Automation & Robotics - AMR's, AGV's - Advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams - Essential.
  • Prior commercial knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market - Essential.
  • An individual truly excited by large scale growth challenges - Essential.
  • Commutable to Rugby area 5 x days per week - Essential.
