This Warehouse Manager opportunity is with a leading retailer based in Newcastle, operating a high-volume distribution centre where operational excellence, customer service and people development are at the heart of the business. The business is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day warehouse operation, leading large teams to deliver exceptional performance across productivity, quality and customer service. Working closely with the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain function, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering operational excellence while supporting the continued growth of the distribution operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring productivity, service and quality targets are consistently achieved.
- Managing, coaching and developing warehouse leadership teams and operational colleagues.
- Driving a culture of accountability, engagement and Continuous Improvement across the operation.
- Monitoring warehouse KPIs and implementing initiatives to improve productivity, accuracy and customer service.
- Managing labour planning and operational resources to maximise efficiency and control costs.
- Ensuring Health & Safety, compliance and operational standards are maintained at all times.
- Working closely with transport and the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operational delivery.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure customer expectations and service level agreements are consistently achieved.
- Leading operational improvement projects to enhance warehouse performance and support future business growth.
Key experience:
- Proven experience operating as a Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Operations Manager or Operations Manager within a fast-paced retail, e-commerce or distribution environment.
- Strong leadership experience managing large operational teams in high-volume warehouse operations.
- Demonstrable success improving warehouse KPIs, productivity and customer service performance.
- Good understanding of labour planning, warehouse compliance and Health & Safety best practice.
- Experience implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives and driving operational change.
- Experience working within a Logistics distribution and supply chain environment.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, hands-on management style with a passion for developing people and delivering operational excellence.
