A growing logistics business in Newcastle is looking to recruit an Operations Coordinator to support its day-to-day freight operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long‑term career in logistics. Full training will be provided across road, air, and sea freight, as well as customs processes and operational systems.
The Role
- Process and manage road, air, and sea freight shipments
- Complete bookings with shipping lines, agents, and hauliers
- Track shipments and proactively update customers on progress and delays
- Assist with import and export customs clearance activities
- Support invoicing, supplier cost allocation, and general administration
- Provide operational support across the wider team
- Handle inbound calls professionally, delivering a high standard of customer service
Key Experiences
- Experience within logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding or a transferable office‑based role
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working under pressure and to deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- CRM or systems experience desirable
- Confident communicator with strong customer service skills
- Team‑focused with a high level of personal accountability
