The Company Our client, a leading third-party logistics provider, is seeking a highly skilled Regional or National Fleet Manager to take responsibility for a diverse fleet of 100+ vehicles, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness across operations. This role will see you working closely with the centralised group fleet management team while managing relationships with outsourced fleet maintenance and engineering providers. You\’ll play a critical role in optimising fleet performance, ensuring vehicle availability, and driving continuous improvements in fleet operations. The Role Oversee the management and maintenance of a mixed fleet of 120+ commercial vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with UK transport regulations. Act as the primary point of contact for outsourced fleet maintenance and engineering providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Collaborate with the centralised group fleet management team to align strategies, implement best practices, and ensure seamless fleet operations. Manage fleet budgets, controlling costs while maintaining high service standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including Operator Licence requirements, maintenance schedules, and health & safety regulations. Monitor fleet performance, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimise up time and reduce operational costs. Lead on procurement decisions for new vehicles and fleet assets, working closely with suppliers and stakeholders. Oversee driver compliance, vehicle tracking, and fuel efficiency initiatives. Commutable to the Castle Donington area for c. 3 days per week. The Candidate A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background – Essential. Proven experience as a Fleet Manager within a 3PL, Transport, or Logistics environment – Essential. Strong knowledge of UK Transport regulations, vehicle maintenance, and compliance requirements – Essential. Experience managing a large, mixed fleet of commercial vehicles of 100+ – Essential. Experience of FMCG and / or Temperature Controlled fleets – Advantageous. A basic understanding of vehicle engineering – Advantageous. CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification – Advantageous. Ability to manage relationships with outsourced fleet service providers and internal stakeholders. Strong commercial awareness with experience in fleet budgeting and cost control. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. The Salary & Package Salary – £50,000 – £60,000.
