About the Role
This is a hands‑on Transport Supervisor / Manager position within a fast‑paced retail distribution environment. You'll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of transport operations, ensuring deliveries are executed on time, in full, and in line with compliance standards. You’ll sit at the centre of the operation - coordinating drivers, managing routes, and keeping the wheels turning across a busy retail supply chain. It’s a role for someone who’s comfortable being on the ground, solving problems in real time, and keeping standards high.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transport operations across a retail distribution network
- Manage driver schedules, route planning, and delivery performance
- Ensure full compliance with transport regulations (drivers' hours, WTD, vehicle checks)
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers, handling issues and resolving disruptions quickly
- Monitor KPIs across service, cost, and efficiency
- Work closely with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure smooth end‑to‑end operations
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service
Key Experience
- Experience in a Transport Supervisor / Manager role within retail logistics distribution and supply chain
- Strong understanding of UK transport compliance and operational standards
- Experience managing drivers and coordinating daily transport activity
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail or distribution environment
