Loom Talent are delighted to be supporting a great client with the appointment of a Warehouse FLM at their Distribution Centre in Stevenage. Working on a Mon-Fri, Twilight Shift pattern (18:00 - 02:00).

As Warehouse FLM you will control the warehouse team across various areas of the operation (i.e. pick, pack and despatch) in line with budgetary targets. The responsibilities can be broken down across the following key areas:

  • Lead & Coordinate Operations: Oversee a team of c.50 FTE, ensuring seamless daily workflows and effective communication.
  • Plan & Optimise Resource Allocation: Create and deploy daily staffing plans to align costs with operational goals and customer delivery expectations.
  • Enforce Compliance & Quality Standards: Maintain adherence to SOPs & rules across turnaround times, and quality control through proactive monitoring.
  • Coach, Develop & Evaluate Staff: Guide team members daily, conduct regular informal feedback sessions, schedule one-on-one check-ins, and carry out annual performance reviews.
  • Drive Performance & Process Improvement: Establish KPIs, track performance trends, coach for improvement, and implement refinements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Resolve Customer Issues & Foster Relationships: Manage escalations with follow-through to sustain trust and positive customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate Cross-Functional Initiatives: Collaborate on projects, new service launches, policy updates, and audit responses.

The successful candidate for the role of Warehouse FLM will meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience managing medium-large team within a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment.
  • Previous experience directly managing team leaders or supervisors.
  • An understanding of departmental budgets and cost control.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop others.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced and demanding environment.
