Job Description

In the role of Transport Manager in, you will have overall responsibility for the transport department, including the safe and efficient delivery of customers goods with the aim of enhancing service, fleet efficiency and safety.

  • Organise and oversee the running of the transport department at site.
  • Support the route planning function utilising TMS and ensuring routes planned are within weight limit and time constraints.
  • Track and monitor KPI's including OTIF score by route, driver and customer, taking appropriate action where required
  • Monitor vehicle temperature control and ensure the cold chain is maintained at all times
  • Ensure all deliveries have completed POD and any discrepancies are investigated.
  • Responsibility for Operators licence of the site
  • Monitor and manage the budget for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage relationship with vehicle contractors to ensure smooth running of operation and vehicle downtime is minimised.
  • Maintain communication between the distribution and warehouse teams and wider business to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Motivate and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met.

The successful candidate for the Transport Manager position will possess:

  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background – Essential.
  • A CPC National / International qualification, demonstrating your deep understanding of transportation regulations – Essential.
  • 3+ years Transport management experience within a Food / FMCG / Contract Logistics – Essential.
  • Proven experience in managing 50+ vehicles – Essential.
  • Must be commutable to the Stanwell Moor area – Essential
  • A true passion for people development, providing excellent service and continuous improvement – Advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence – Essential.

You will receive a competitve salary and benefits, including:

  • Salary – £50,000 to £55,000.
