Role: Transport ManagerLocation: LeedsSalary: £45,000 – £50,000
We are working on behalf of a rapidly growing UK Contract Logistics Buiness to appoint a Transport Manager to lead and scale their transport function.
Key Responsibilities;
- Lead the end-to-end management of the UK-wide transport operation, including fleet strategy, routing, and people leadership.
- Drive service performance, cost efficiency, and operational consistency across a multi-channel delivery model.
- Champion compliance with all relevant transport legislation, health & safety protocols, and fleet maintenance standards.
- Introduce and optimise routing technologies and transport systems to improve productivity and customer experience.
- Develop a high-performing team culture, fostering accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Manage third-party transport providers and contracts, ensuring value for money and alignment with service KPIs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, commercial, and customer service teams to support business growth.
Key Requirements;
- Significant experience in a Transport Manager or senior logistics role within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector
- CPC qualified – essential.
- Strong working knowledge of transport legislation, driver management, and vehicle compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage home delivery, store distribution, and reverse logistics at scale.
- Skilled in the implementation and optimisation of third-party routing platforms – essential.
- Commercially aware, KPI-driven, and confident in managing cost, service, and people performance.
- Experience managing third-party logistics partners and internal stakeholders at a senior level.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing organisation with evolving operational needs.
