Contract Type: Temporary, Full time - 6 month FTC
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 09.30am - 17.30pm (37.5 hours)

Welcome to the accounting department, where everybody counts. If you want to lead a fun and exciting Accounts department, then you're in the correct place! Are you motivated by balancing balance sheets, spending hours reviewing budgets and expenditure, or producing monthly, quarterly and full year end Accounts? Ideal. You're almost the perfect candidate for this role. Accompany this with a proven track record in an Accountancy role ideally in the motor trade and you're exactly the person we're looking for. You'll need to be business savvy, articulate and investigative with an organised approach to get the job done well. You'll be required to work with a wide team and with the support of our Financial Business Partners.

Job responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements; support period-end closings and financial analysis.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain the general ledger; reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet items.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee vendor payments and customer collections; resolve billing discrepancies.
- Inventory & Cost Accounting: Track vehicle/parts inventory; perform floor plan reconciliations.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to policies, GAAP, and tax regulations; support audits and internal controls.
- Tax & Filing Support: Assist with tax reporting (sales, property, income); liaise with auditors as needed.
- Management Support: Provide financial insights and assist with budgeting and forecasts.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with high fleet account volumes. Experience in the motor trade would be preferred but is not essential if you have accountant experience. You will be proactive, dynamic, pay good attention to detail and be a confident individual. Having previous experience of using Pinewood / Kerridge or other Dealer systems would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.
