Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00 with a one hour lunch

Contract Type: 6 month fixed term contract

We're recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join the team at Stockport Skoda. The Assistant Accountant is the backbone of any finance department. You will be required to use your knowledge and skills previously gained in an Accounts department to help and support the whole team whilst also effectively working alongside the Dealership Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial results are driven. This opportunity is one which you can learn from the best in our Dealership Accountant who will allow you to develop your skills and establish a long successful career in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations, covering the cash and bank postings in period of absence within your team
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices
  • Processing payments
  • Daily banking
  • Weekly review and analysis of all vehicle and cash sale debt
  • Assisting the Dealership Accountant with month end related tasks

Qualifications / Experience

You will be a hardworking Assistant Accountant with previous knowledge of Kerridge/ADP or similar systems. Motor trade experience would be advantageous although not essential. We are also open to quick learners who are looking to start their career in accounts as we are always looking for fresh new talent. Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic and a positive mental attitude is what is needed to succeed in this position.
