Sheffield Ford Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am - 5:30pm, and Saturday mornings on rota
Salary: OTE Up to £45,600, with basic between £34,000 to £36,000 per annum plus bonus
Due to internal progression, an exciting opportunity has become available at Sheffield Ford - we’re on the lookout for an experienced Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team in our state of the art facility. It is the perfect opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Workshop Controller to advance their career with an award winning brand.
As a Workshop Controller, you will:
- Supervise and motivate our team of Technicians & Apprentices.
- Pro-actively review and prioritise the daily workload.
- Be a crucial part of our business and the Aftersales Department.
- Be responsible for the day to day running of the workshop, ensuring the service and repair technicians achieve their daily targets.
- Assist the Service Manager in ensuring the department provides the best possible service to the customers and achieves agreed profits and retention levels.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by implementing relevant quality checks.
- Ensure that all working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety and OEM policy.
- Make sure all service work is carried out correctly, competently and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Maintain relationships with the vehicle manufacturer and provide support to Technicians during repairs.
- Ensure that high standards are achieved and maintained within the workshop and surrounding areas.
- Liaise with colleagues and other departments to ensure a top quality service for customers.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, the complexity of each job and the availability of parts.
- Assist with technical challenges by going above and beyond to support the team and writing technical reports.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Motor industry experience managing a team within a busy Service/Workshop environment.
- A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- A solid understanding of COSHH legislation, trade practices, and consumer legislation.
- Awareness of quality control and inspection requirements of a workshop.
- Friendly, confident, and enthusiastic personality.
- Ability to roll your sleeves up and work as part of the team.
- A full valid UK driving license.
