Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available at the Preston Volkswagen dealership for an experienced Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team. As a Workshop Controller, you will supervise and motivate a team of Technicians and Apprentices, proactively review and prioritise the daily workload, and contribute to the Aftersales Department. You will report to the Aftersales Manager and will have the opportunity for brand‑specific training to advance your career within the motor trade industry.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety, and OEM policy.
- Make sure all service work is carried out correctly, competently, and on time with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Maintain relationships with the vehicle manufacturer and support Technicians during repairs, ensuring high standards are achieved and maintained.
- Liaise with colleagues and other departments to ensure a top‑quality service for customers.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, the complexity of each job and the availability of parts.
- Assist with technical challenges, supporting the team and writing technical reports.
