Contract Type: Temp Maternity Cover – 12 Months

Salary: £43,000 basic, plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and uncapped Time Saved Bonus Scheme (OTE up to £50,000+)

Hours: 40 hours, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm

Lookers Volkswagen Northallerton are recruiting for a Master Technician to join our high‑performing workshop. Working alongside a skilled team of technicians, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering manufacturer‑level diagnostic expertise, supporting complex repairs, and ensuring every vehicle leaves our workshop in exceptional condition. Reporting to our accomplished Aftersales Manager, you’ll receive ongoing support, access to the latest diagnostic technology, and continuous development opportunities — including manufacturer‑accredited training and Hybrid & Electric qualifications to further elevate your technical capability. Our Master Technicians are central to the success of our Service team, delivering first‑class customer service and technical excellence every time. Whether you’re currently working within a dealer group or an independent specialist, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Completing advanced diagnostics and fault‑finding across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Supporting and mentoring other technicians with complex repairs
  • Conducting vehicle services and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Carrying out pre‑delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
  • Performing detailed vehicle health checks and advising on further required work
  • Completing warranty repairs with accurate documentation
  • Road‑testing vehicles to confirm repair quality
  • Ensuring all paperwork and job cards are completed to a high standard
  • Fitting additional accessories and completing authorised repairs
  • Maintaining exceptional workshop standards and customer focus

About You:

  • Fully qualified Master Technician or Senior Technician ready to step up
  • Strong diagnostic capability across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Self‑motivated, ambitious, and committed to delivering high standards
  • Full UK driving licence required
