Lookers Blackburn Volkswagen are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
The role involves carrying out vehicle health checks, servicing and repairs, supporting the aftersales team, and delivering first‑class customer service.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out pre‑delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
- Carrying out checks in line with manufacturers' guidelines
- Fitting any additional accessories requested by the customer
- Reporting any required further work on vehicle health checks
- Checking lights, tyre pressure, mechanical and electrical components
- Completing minor repairs on new and used vehicles
- Understanding and carrying out basic diagnosis in mechanical and electrical work
- Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and customer requests
- Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
- Completing warranty repairs per the manufacturer's guidelines and writing up relevant paperwork
- Taking the customer's vehicle for a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
- Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed to a high standard
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a mechanic, be self‑motivated, ambitious and eager to learn, with a full UK driving licence and completion of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience with the brand is advantageous but not essential; full brand accreditation training can be provided.
