We are looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Homelessness and Complex Needs Social Care Service in Windsor & Maidenhead. Work proactively to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs.
Be responsible for housing management at the service which includes monitoring of rent payments, liaising with the benefits team and Look Ahead rents team, ensuring shortfall payments are made by customers, managing ASB in line with Look Ahead policy and procedures, new customer sign-ups and low-level repairs. Carry out daily/weekly/monthly health and safety and building checks and be responsible for raising repairs.
Contribute to a positive service environment, ensuring the service is supportive and a place of safety and stability for customers. This includes working flexibly and proactively in delivering, reviewing and arranging effective support for emerging needs and risks in order to prevent escalating concerns.
Build relationships with the local borough and any key agencies, such as no recourse to public funds teams, homelessness teams, and local food banks. Involve customers in the design, development and delivery of the service through co-production. Proactively develop links with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide a range of engagement opportunities for customers in the community.
Maintain records in accordance with Look Ahead's Information Management policies, procedures and guidance under the direction of the Support Worker’s manager(s). Keep a clear desk at all times and assist with archiving and secure disposal of records when required. Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis.
Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements. Salary: £29,101.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.
