Head of PBS
We're looking for a hardworking and resilient Head of Positive Behaviour Support to join our Learning Disabilities & Autism Support Team located at Head Office in Islington.
65,000.00 per annum, working 35 hours per week.

In this role you will be a key member of the Learning Disabilities and Autism Directorate.
The Head of PBS will be a qualified Behaviour Analyst, responsible for conducting assessments, deciding most appropriate PBS interventions and supporting service teams to deliver effective person centered strategies and to develop practice.
The postholder will also be the lead for an ambitious Person Centered Active Support programme as well as being a key person in driving forward the LD&A support strategy.
You will be required to provide data analysis of the impact of the service and provide senior level written reports on a regular basis.
You will need to understand Trauma Informed Practice and support its implementation as part of our LD strategy.
This role will report into the Managing Director, LD&A and be part of the senior LD&A team.
Some on call participation and out of hours working will be required at times.
What you'll do
This is not an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time and is subject to change in accordance with the needs of Look Ahead .
To be successful the postholder will demonstrate knowledge, experience and ability to implement person-centred PBS interventions for our customers.
The postholder will be responsible for planning, organising training and providing specialist supervision to the Look Ahead PBS Coaches and practitioners.
The postholder will annually plan and cost the development of the PBS offer, regularly report on outcomes and lead on latest good practice.
You will be the Active Support lead, annually planning, costing and coordinating an ambitious programme to embed AS in every service and to develop and support coaches and practitioners.
This role will be varied and responsive to the needs of the customers that Look Ahead supports across our Learning Disability and Autism services.
It will also be instrumental in driving exceptional outcomes for customers and leading good practice in teams and will likely include:
- Managing a casework referral system and measuring outcomes
- Be instrumental in driving the LD&A model of support
- Conducting initial needs assessments for high acuity referrals
- Developing person centered PBS plans and support proposals and leading on our PBS Framework
- Carrying out Functional Assessments for PBS planning
- Develop, coordinate and deliver training as required Providing coaching and guidance to service teams to develop practice
- Observation of practice, collate and record data, provide feedback
- Provision of clinical supervision to PBS Coaches and support their development
- Be an active part of the LD&A leadership team, analyse and report on data and inform sector good practice
- Supporting improved staff practice and customer outcomes through Trauma Informed practice
- Commitment to continuous development
- Staying updated on legislation, research and best practice
- Representing Look Ahead at clinical meetings and other relevant forums
- Being flexible to supporting Look Ahead LD&A to meet its objectives
- Occasionally undertake additional duties as required by Look Ahead
- Operating within time, financial and other resource constraint

- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
- Active Support Qualification
- Experience and skill in coproducing services with customers who have LD&A

- Experience of assessment and transition processes for new customer referrals
