What you will do:
- Lead the planning and execution of analytical activities, including laboratory work, method development, data interpretation and scientific reporting.
- Develop, optimise and troubleshoot analytical methods such as HPLC/UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, spectroscopy and mass spectrometry for protein characterisation.
- Perform and review analytical experiments to assess key quality attributes of biotherapeutic proteins.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to internal project teams and stakeholders.
- Provide analytical leadership within cross‑functional project teams, ensuring study progress, data quality, issue escalation and clear communication.
- Scout, evaluate and help implement innovative analytical technologies, software and instrumentation across the Lonza network.
- Contribute to a culture of scientific excellence, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the P&PA team.
Qualifications:
- Advanced experience in protein analysis within an academic or industrial analytical laboratory.
- Strong technical expertise in chromatography, electrophoresis and mass spectrometry for protein characterisation (e.g., IEX, SEC, HIC, RP, HILIC, LC‑MS/MS).
- Solid understanding of analytical method strengths, limitations and applications in biotherapeutic development.
- Proven ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Experience leading scientific activities or cross‑functional analytical workstreams.
- MSc in a life science discipline (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or related).
- PhD preferred but not required.
- A passion for innovation, problem‑solving and advancing analytical technologies.
