Shift Pattern: 6am to 6PM

Overview

The Downstream Processing (DSP) Technician will be responsible for the daily execution of the buffer operation. The Technician will learn and carry out the basic skills used in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment and help to run the area and communicate to other teams. The Technician will work on buffer preparation activities as well as performing a list of daily tasks. This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Formulating buffers to deliver on time in full to production
  • Completing batch records in relation to buffer formulations
  • Preparation of buffers and transportation to purification facilities when required
  • Dispensing solid and liquid chemical reagents and transportation to buffer preparation area
  • Understanding COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements
  • Measuring pH and conductivity
  • Scheduling buffers
  • Filter testing
  • Perform cleaning of buffer preparation facilities on a routine basis

Qualifications

  • Secondary school or maximum Bachelor's degree
  • Proactive individual with good communication skills in written and spoken English and basic mathematics skills
  • Previous experience working in a GMP environment is beneficial
  • Willing to learn the skills and techniques needed to maintain and increase the service given to customers
  • PC literate—able to use Word, Excel, and Email
