We are currently searching for a Setting Out Engineer for a fast-paced groundworks package in Newport. You will be working for a subcontractor who specialises in these packages, working alongside the principal contractor on the scheme.
The Role:
- Site Surveys and Setting Out works using GPS, total station and levels in line with drawings and specifications
- Establishing and maintaining site control, datums and gridlines for bulk earthworks, attenuation and drainage runs
- Carrying out quality checks and surveys to verify line, level and formation tolerances
- Managing testing regimes, including compaction, CBR, permeability and pressure testing in accordance with specs
- Recording and reviewing QA documentation, test results, ITPs and inspection records for handover
- Liaising with main contractor, engineers and inspectors to coordinate inspections, hold points and approvals
- Identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions, ensuring works meet contractual and adoptable standards
- Producing as-built surveys and records, including drainage layouts, manhole schedules and test certificates
