We are currently searching for a Structural Engineer to join one of the global leaders in Structural Reinforcement projects. Their focus covers both new build and existing structures with a major focus on Post-Tensioning works and Concrete repair.

The particular focus of this role will be on the existing structures part of the business, especially focusing on Concrete Beam Cracking Repair. This is a very lucrative aspect of the business and due to increased demand, they are adding to their London team.

The Role:

  • Inspecting and assessing cracked reinforced concrete beams, identifying root causes including flexural, shear, shrinkage or durability-related defects.
  • Carrying out structural assessments and load calculations to determine residual capacity and required strengthening measures.
  • Developing repair methodologies, including resin injection, section enlargement, FRP strengthening, steel plating or cathodic protection.
  • Producing detailed repair specifications, drawings and technical reports for client approval and site implementation.
  • Liaising with site teams and specialist operatives to ensure repair works are delivered in accordance with design intent.
  • Monitoring and inspecting repair works on site, ensuring compliance with QA procedures and industry standards.
  • Coordinating testing and validation, including crack width monitoring, pull-out testing and post-repair verification.
  • Providing technical advice to clients and contractors, supporting temporary works, sequencing and long-term durability solutions.

Required:

  • Degree Qualified in Structural Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multifaceted team.
  • Willing to travel (on occasion) to other parts of the UK.
