We are currently recruiting an experienced Site Manager to join an established earthworks contractor based in Ipswich. The successful candidate will oversee a £5 million drainage project near Leiston, involving a mixture of deep and shallow drainage works, earthworks and associated groundworks. The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, within budget and in line with the construction programme.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the daily management and successful delivery of the project.
  • Manage deep and shallow drainage, earthworks and associated groundworks.
  • Coordinate site labour, subcontractors, plant and materials.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, inspections and daily briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Monitor progress against the construction programme and address any potential delays.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors and senior management.
  • Maintain accurate site records.
