We are looking for a Mechanical Quality Assurance Manager to join a busy residential new build project in Hackney Wick. The scheme has over 450 apartments and you will be working with the Mechanical Contractor, ensuring quality standards are upheld throughout the project.

The role:

  • Leading the quality assurance function for mechanical building services packages, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, industry standards and client requirements.
  • Developing, implementing and managing project QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality management systems across multiple projects.
  • Conducting inspections and audits of mechanical installations, including HVAC, pipework, public health and specialist mechanical systems.
  • Managing quality documentation and compliance records, ensuring all inspections, test results and commissioning records are accurately maintained and readily available for client review.
  • Coordinating quality inspections with site teams, consultants and client representatives, ensuring hold points and witness inspections are completed in line with programme requirements.
  • Monitoring non-conformances and corrective actions, identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement across projects.
  • Reviewing technical submittals, drawings and specifications, ensuring installations comply with design intent and relevant standards.
  • Supporting testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems are installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with project requirements.
  • Providing quality training and guidance to project teams, promoting best practice and consistency across mechanical installations.
  • Supporting project handover and completion, ensuring all quality records, O&M manuals and certification are complete and compliant.

Required:

  • Proven experience in a Mechanical QA/QC or Quality Assurance role within an M&E contractor environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services installations, including HVAC, pipework, public health and commissioning processes.
  • Experience developing and managing QA systems, ITPs, inspections and quality documentation on major construction projects.
  • Excellent understanding of industry standards, testing, commissioning and compliance requirements, with a strong focus on quality, traceability and continuous improvement.
