We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an established and reputable Main Contractor, who are looking to appoint an experienced Construction Estimator to join their pre-construction team.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record within a Main Contractor environment, with experience pricing and securing construction projects.

The contractor delivers a varied portfolio of projects, including Traditional Contracting, Design & Build and Cladding Remediation Works.

The Role

  • Managing tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
  • Preparing accurate and competitive construction estimates.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Producing detailed estimates and cost plans.
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Working closely with design, commercial and pre-construction teams.
  • Attending tender meetings, site visits and client meetings.
  • Presenting tenders to senior management.
  • Supporting successful project handovers to the delivery team.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator within a Main Contractor.
  • Strong track record of pricing and winning construction projects.
  • Experience with Traditional and Design & Build contracts.
  • Cladding remediation, façade, refurbishment or building envelope experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and specifications.
  • Excellent estimating, tendering and commercial skills.
  • Strong subcontractor and supplier negotiation experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
  • Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable.
