Logistics Manager

Residential Developer β€’ Freelance: 12 months β€’ Rate: GBP250 per day β€’ Location: Merton

We are currently searching for a Logistics Manager for a large residential project in Merton. This project will deliver over 400 new homes to the area over several mid and high rise RC Frame blocks.

As Logistics Manager you will be a key part of the Site Management team, ensuring the smooth running of the site.

The Role

  • Managing all site logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient movement of labour, materials, plant and deliveries across the project
  • Developing and implementing site logistics plans, including access routes, traffic management, storage areas and welfare arrangements
  • Coordinating deliveries and waste management, ensuring materials arrive on time and site remains organised and compliant
  • Managing gate staff, traffic marshals and logistics operatives, ensuring effective control of site access and daily operations
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams, coordinating delivery schedules and resolving logistical constraints
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including pedestrian segregation, lifting operations and emergency access
  • Monitoring site housekeeping and presentation, maintaining clean, safe and professional working areas
  • Supporting programme delivery, ensuring logistics activities align with construction sequencing and project milestones
  • Maintaining records and reporting, including delivery logs, incidents, permits and utilisation data
  • Identifying and mitigating site risks, particularly around congestion, access restrictions and interface management

Required

  • Proven experience in logistics management on major construction projects, ideally with a main contractor or developer
  • Strong understanding of site operations, traffic management and material flow within busy live construction environments
  • Experience managing logistics teams and subcontractors, driving safety, coordination and productivity
  • Good knowledge of HSEQ requirements, including lifting operations, access control and safe site practices
