We are currently searching for an experienced Project Manager who specialises in Groundworks packages. The project is a new build industrial scheme whereby this contractor will oversee the delivery of the groundworks package up to structures. The project has a value of £5m and a 35-week programme.
The Role:
- Managing groundworks packages from pre-start through to completion, ensuring safe, on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Planning and coordinating all site activities, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works.
- Leading site teams, including Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors, driving productivity and performance.
- Managing client and main contractor relationships, attending meetings, reporting progress and resolving issues.
- Overseeing programme delivery, sequencing works and managing resources, plant and materials effectively.
- Commercial oversight in conjunction with the QS, including valuations, variations, cost control and forecasting.
- Ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards, implementing RAMS and maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Monitoring quality and technical compliance, ensuring works meet drawings, specifications and adoptable standards.
- Identifying and managing project risks, including ground conditions, logistics and programme pressures.
- Supporting project handover, including snagging, as-built records and completion documentation.
Required:
- Proven experience managing groundworks packages (earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads) for a subcontractor or civils contractor.
- Strong leadership and delivery capability, managing site teams, subcontractors and programmes on fast-paced projects.
- Experience working with main contractors, including client liaison, progress reporting and issue resolution.
- Solid commercial awareness, supporting cost control, variations and project profitability.
- SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS are essential with Temporary Works being beneficial.
