CNC Turning & Mill/Turn Machine Operator
Longvale designs and manufactures process automation instrumentation solutions for the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Nuclear, Military and Rail industries.
We are looking for an CNC Turning and Mill/Turn Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC turning and mill/turn machines, producing high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves turning, milling, drilling, tapping and boring, as well as tool setting, inspection and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning and mill/turn machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Set and adjust tooling, workholding and machining parameters.
- Inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
- Identify and resolve machining and tooling issues.
- Complete production and inspection documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Learn new skills and develop within the business.
Requirements
- Previous CNC turning and/or mill/turn experience.
- Good understanding of machining, tooling, speeds and feeds.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Good inspection and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and progress.
Desirable but Not Essential
- CNC programming experience.
- SolidWorks or other CAD experience.
- Relevant CNC/machining qualifications.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 10:30 AM 7:00 PM
