A position has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to undertake the role of Practice Nurse to work alongside our current practice nurse. We are ideally looking for around 18 hours. The ideal candidate should be registered with the NMC, must be working or have had practice nurse experience and provide certification of training courses undertaken for the relevant post.
Main duties of the job:
- To offer a high standard of evidence based care to patients, to include health promotion, treatment, screening and disease management.
- Specific clinical areas include:
- National immunisation and vaccination schedule
- Travel Immunisations and Vaccinations
- Essential hypertension/CKD/CHD
- Cervical smears
- Urinalysis
- Chronic Disease Management
- Home Visits

We are an established, friendly and supportive GP Training Practice based in Rainhill Merseyside, we have a patient list size of around 9200, with a team of 2 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistant and an experienced Administration and Reception Team who offer a wide range of support. We use EMIS web clinical system along with Docman 10 and other clinical systems. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent care to our population.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing care to practice population who are referred or self-refer in the practice or in home setting including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of:
- Administer nebuliser
- Spirometry/respiratory testing
- Cervical cytology
- Blood pressure and other physiological measurements
