Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across the secondary age range
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Promote high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and department
- Support students to achieve strong academic outcomes
- Participate in wider school duties, including enrichment and extra-curricular activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community
What we’re looking for
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science
- Experience of teaching in a secondary school setting (or strong ECT potential)
- High expectations of student achievement and behaviour
- Ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- A proactive and reflective approach to professional development
