Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across the secondary age range
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and department
  • Support students to achieve strong academic outcomes
  • Participate in wider school duties, including enrichment and extra-curricular activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science
  • Experience of teaching in a secondary school setting (or strong ECT potential)
  • High expectations of student achievement and behaviour
  • Ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
  • A proactive and reflective approach to professional development
