The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and dedicated Exams Officer to oversee the administration and delivery of all internal and external examinations. This is a pivotal role within the academy, ensuring examination processes are managed efficiently, accurately and in full compliance with awarding body regulations.
Working closely with senior leaders, curriculum teams and invigilators, you will play a key role in supporting scholar achievement by ensuring exams and assessment processes run smoothly from entry through to results and certification.
Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate examination entries, timetables, results processing and communication with awarding bodies.
- Ensure examination procedures comply with all relevant regulations and requirements.
- Manage and organise invigilator deployment to support the effective running of examinations.
- Arrange appropriate access arrangements and support for scholars with additional needs.
- Maintain accurate examination records and provide high-quality data and reporting.
- Produce and analyse assessment and examination information to support academy improvement.
- Work collaboratively with staff and senior leaders to ensure the successful delivery of all examination activities.
What We Are Looking For
- A highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- A minimum Level 3 qualification, ideally within a relevant field.
- Strong administrative, data management and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Confidence using data systems and producing reports to support decision-making.
- A proactive, professional and solution-focused approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding, professional development and the values of Longsands Academy and Astrea Academy Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to join a successful academy and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of examinations and assessment processes, helping every scholar achieve the outcomes they deserve.
