Longroyde Primary is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Nursery Manager to lead and manage our warm, welcoming school-based nursery. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring outstanding provision, strong safeguarding practice, and an inspiring learning environment for children aged 3–4.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS Framework
- Ensure children’s learning, development and wellbeing are at the heart of all practice
- Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding standards and nursery policies
- Monitor and improve teaching, learning and assessment across the nursery
- Provide strong leadership, mentoring and supervision to staff
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Manage nursery administration including registers, staffing ratios, planning, and reporting
- Support inclusion and ensure the needs of all children are met, including SEND support
- Manage budgets and resources effectively (where applicable)
- Work closely with the school leadership team to support a smooth transition into Reception
- A relevant childcare qualification at Level 3 or above (Level 5/6 desirable)
- Significant experience working in an early years setting, ideally in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of the EYFS, child development and early years best practice
- Experience of Ofsted preparation and maintaining high-quality provision
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
- Ability to motivate, support and develop a team
- Confidence in building strong parent partnerships and community engagement
