The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
We are looking for a security officer to join our security team. The Longleat security team provides a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and House collection 24 hours a day, with a focus on providing a warm welcome to guests whilst helping to deter crime and de-escalate confrontational situations.
Key Duties
- To liaise with colleagues at all levels on security issues across the Estate
- To maintain a friendly and supportive approach to solving issues
- To ensure security issues are dealt with calmly and efficiently with minimal disruption to the on-going business and our customers
- To actively support our colleagues and customers in the event of lost persons and lost property
- To provide rapid support for both colleagues and customers when requested
- To communicate clearly, courteously and effectively with all radio users
- To positively support the company’s growing corporate identity, to liaise with other departments in delivering functions and events and to provide out of hours security for these as directed by your line manager
- To meet, and exceed the Company’s customer service charter.
- To provide initial security advice and guidance to other teams when requested
- To openly respond to customers’ non-security needs when approached, providing a friendly and helpful attitude
- To communicate clearly, courteously and effectively with all customers, resolving all concerns and questions satisfactorily and when required, discreetly.
Security Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Monitor CCTV, operate CCTV cameras and associated equipment, alarms, road barriers and House entry in compliance with legislation and ensuring usage in a safe and professional manner
- Monitor park cameras and alert external security where required
- Maintain logs of all visitors, incidents and any other required records
- Oversee contractor movement to the estate
- Minimize potential security threats through patrolling
- Carry out pre-defined routines, taking personal ownership of issues whilst acting within strict guidelines for responses and behaviours
- Respond to alarm situations in the house in a timely manner
- Highlight and advise other departments on potential security risks
You Will Have
- Proven security industry experience
- SIA security licence
- A full valid UK, clean, driving licence
Key Competencies For The Role Are
- Self-sufficiency in working remotely and without direct supervision, with a can-do attitude.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of M.S Word and Excel
- Willing to work on a variable shift pattern of 12 hour night shifts, with some short notice shift changes
- Able to demonstrate a proactive approach to problems as they arise, ensuring they are followed through to a positive conclusion
- Effective team player, with the ability to share information and workload
- Confident and authoritative demeanour, whilst still maintaining a customer-focused approach
- Energetic, friendly, and enthusiastic, also physically fit to meet the physical demands of the role
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to listen and communicate at all levels, using language, eye contact and body language appropriately and effectively.
- Analytical and methodical approach to problems
- Able to act quickly and decisively and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
