As a Forester at Longleat, you will play a pivotal role in hands-on forestry operations, ensuring the meticulous care of trees and executing practical forestry harvesting techniques, such as chainsaw tree felling. Your responsibilities will also extend to overseeing forest machinery extraction operations, all performed to the highest standards of excellence. Key duties will include:
Carrying out forestry tasks associated with the establishment and harvesting of forest and parkland trees.
Young tree establishment work.
Maintenance and where appropriate, repair of all vehicles, plant and machinery in his care to the highest standard.
You must have a full UK driving licence to apply for this role.
You will have experience of commercial and traditional forestry including agricultural/forestry machinery and vehicles, as well as a full understanding of health and safety.
Your good foundation knowledge of silviculture and broad range of consolidated industry specific practical skills will enable you to hit the ground running in this position.
If you hold formal training certificates for chainsaw and machinery operations, with PA1 & 6 certificates, this is desirable.

Your contract
You will be on a permanent 40-hour contract predominately Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.15pm with weekends, evening and bank holidays as required.
