The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

Reporting to the Preventive Conservation Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for preserving Longleat’s important heritage collections and ensuring that Longleat House is presented to the highest possible standards. You will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections and interiors of this incredible place.

Key duties will include:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness including vacuuming visitor route floors/carpets and dusting objects using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Being part of the Salvage Team for Longleat House, stores and exhibitions.
  • Taking part in annual deep clean of rooms, stores and exhibitions.
  • Cleaning staff facilities such as offices, breakrooms and toilets.
  • Undertaking tasks as part of Longleat House’s integrated pest management programme.

What will I need to be considered for this vacancy?

  • Interest in history, historic buildings and historic objects.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work from ladders and tower scaffolds.
  • Willingness to work in cold and dusty environments.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and undertake continuing professional development.
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.

You will be required to undertake a DBS check prior to appointment.
