Longlands Hotel offers an excellent opportunity to join our kitchen team, working in a friendly and local 4 Inn and Restaurant set in the heart of the Carnforth countryside and the gateway to the Lake District.
About Longlands: The Longlands Inn & Restaurant has a long reputation for quality service. The restaurant has recently undergone major refurbishment. Owned and managed by the Robinson family for over 30 years, we aim to provide exceptional experiences to our guests and customers.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience as CDP or Sous Chef and background in a similar operation (serving Contemporary British Gastropub Food).
- An eye for quality and consistency in delivering exceptional food.
- Be in possession of a current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
- The ability to work a variety of shifts with a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the business.
- Hard working, passionate individual who can work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
What you will receive from us:
- Annual salary of £36,270 + generous gratuities.
- 40-45 hours per week over a 4 day working week.

Job description:
- To manage the daily preparation, cooking and service of high-quality food in a timely manner.
- To comply with Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) in all aspects of storage, preparation, cooking, service, cleaning and maintenance with audits and checklists, to report and act upon any issues.
- To perform checks of all goods from suppliers.
- To deal with suppliers to resolve any issues that may arise to compromise the standards required, and report this to the Head Chef.
- To monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering.
- To assist the kitchen team to maintain and improve quality, standards and cleanliness required by Head Chef.
- Applicant must be able to drive to and from work, no accommodation is provided.
- To assist Head Chef in creating new recipes and menus writing.
- To assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries and make sure that all relevant company procedures are adhered to.
