The BESS Delivery & Service Manager / Engineer (Utility Scale) is responsible for the execution and lifecycle support of large-scale battery energy storage projects after the project is secured by the sales and presales teams. The role manages the technical delivery, commissioning, and operational support of utility-scale BESS projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Handover from Sales / Presales
- Take ownership of projects after commercial contract closure.
- Review project scope including:
- System design
- Grid requirements
- Performance guarantees
- Project schedules
- Align with customers and internal teams on project execution strategy.
- Manage the full lifecycle delivery of utility-scale BESS projects.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, grid requirements, and safety standards.
- Manage project risks and coordinate issue resolution.
- Oversee commissioning of utility-scale BESS including:
- System energization
- Grid compliance testing
- Performance testing
- Coordinate post-commissioning support and service activities.
- Manage long-term service plans and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and coordinate troubleshooting if needed.
- Interface with OEM technical teams for system diagnostics.
- Act as the primary technical contact between:
- Customers
- EPC contractors
- OEM suppliers
- Internal teams
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10 years experience in utility-scale renewable energy or power infrastructure projects.
- Experience with large-scale BESS, solar + storage, or grid infrastructure preferred.
- Strong understanding of:
- Grid integration
- Power systems
- Energy management systems
- High-voltage systems
