The BESS Delivery & Service Manager / Engineer (Utility Scale) is responsible for the execution and lifecycle support of large-scale battery energy storage projects after the project is secured by the sales and presales teams. The role manages the technical delivery, commissioning, and operational support of utility-scale BESS projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Handover from Sales / Presales
Take ownership of projects after commercial contract closure. Review project scope including:- System design
- Grid requirements
- Performance guarantees
- Project schedules
- Project Execution & Delivery
Manage the full lifecycle delivery of utility-scale BESS projects. Coordinate with EPC contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers. Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Ensure compliance with technical specifications, grid requirements, and safety standards. Manage project risks and coordinate issue resolution. - Commissioning & Grid Integration
Oversee commissioning of utility-scale BESS including:- System energization
- Grid compliance testing
- Performance testing
- Operations Support & Service Management
Coordinate post-commissioning support and service activities. Manage long-term service plans and preventive maintenance. Monitor system performance and coordinate troubleshooting if needed. Interface with OEM technical teams for system diagnostics. - Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the primary technical contact between:- Customers
- EPC contractors
- OEM suppliers
- Internal teams
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10 years experience in utility-scale renewable energy or power infrastructure projects.
- Experience with large-scale BESS, solar + storage, or grid infrastructure preferred.
- Strong understanding of:
- Grid integration
- Power systems
- Energy management systems
- High-voltage systems
