Your mission as Senior Key Account Manager – BESS, you will lead the development and expansion of LONGi’s battery energy storage business across The UK & Ireland Region. You will own strategic utility-scale customer relationships, drive BESS project sales from early-stage opportunity through execution, and position LONGi as a trusted partner for large-scale energy storage solutions. Your role is pivotal in building LONGi’s footprint in the fast-growing storage market and enabling energy transition through commercially successful projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Business Development & Sales Leadership
    • Develop and execute the sales strategy for utility-scale battery storage systems (BESS) in The UK & Ireland.
    • Identify, qualify and secure new BESS customers including utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), developers, EPCs, and energy investors.
    • Build and expand LONGi’s network of strategic partners and key accounts within the energy storage ecosystem.
    • Drive project pipeline development from lead generation through contract closure.
    • Own commercial negotiations including pricing, contract terms, and framework agreements for battery storage projects.
  • Key Account Management
    • Act as the primary interface between LONGi and its strategic BESS customers.
    • Develop long-term account strategies to grow share of wallet and customer lifetime value.
    • Manage customer relationships from pre-sales, technical clarification, contracting, and order execution to after-sales support.
    • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities linking battery storage with PV and integrated energy solutions where relevant.
  • Commercial & Strategy Execution
    • Implement monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for battery storage solutions.
    • Monitor market trends, competitors and policy developments in The UK & Ireland energy storage markets.
    • Represent LONGi at industry events, energy conferences, and customer meetings to enhance brand presence in the storage segment.
    • Contribute to regional market-entry strategies, go-to-market planning and channel development for energy storage.
  • Internal Coordination
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders including product management, engineering, legal, finance, logistics and service teams to support successful project delivery.
    • Coordinate technical proposals and commercial alignment with solution architects and engineering teams.
    • Ensure contract execution, payment discipline, and customer satisfaction.
    • Support internal feedback loops, sharing market intelligence to inform product development and pricing strategy.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in key account management, business development, or sales within energy storage (especially BESS) specific to utility segment.
  • Deep understanding of utility-scale energy storage use cases (e.g. grid stability, peak shaving, frequency regulation, arbitrage).
  • Demonstrated success selling battery storage systems, hybrid projects or energy infrastructure solutions is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working with utilities, IPPs, EPCs or energy developers is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record managing complex commercial negotiations and closing large contracts.
  • Ability to build and execute account development strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong business acumen and value-selling approach.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
