We are seeking a professional HGV Driver to join our PLANT HIRE DELIVERY team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of plant and machinery to various locations. The ideal applicant will possess relevant driving experience, particularly with flatbed and low loader deliveries, and be committed to maintaining high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver goods to specified locations promptly and securely, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects or issues.
- Secure cargo appropriately using suitable restraints to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays or issues.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling of items.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV licence with relevant categories for flatbed and commercial driving; class 2 a necessity, class 1 preferable.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods transport.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently under various conditions.
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and documentation effectively.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
5 day week, zero nights out, rotational Saturday per month.
Pay: £12.58-£25.00 per hour.
Experience: 2 years (preferred).
