About the Role
There are 3 roles available on a part time basis for 30, 26 or 36 hours, with the shift patterns below:
- Shift pattern 1 for 30 hours per week: Monday 12:30 β 18:30; Tuesday 12:30 β 18:30; Wednesday 08:00 β 14:00; Thursday 08:00 β 14:00; Friday 12:30 β 18:30
- Shift Pattern 2 for 26 hours per week: Monday 08:00 β 13:30; Wednesday 08:00 β 13:30; Thursday 08:00 β 13:30; Friday 08:00 β 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
- Shift Pattern 3 for 36 hours: Monday 08:00 β 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break); Tuesday 08:00 β 13:00; Wednesday 12:30 β 18:30; Thursday 12:30 β 18:30; Friday 08:00 β 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
You will be responsible for:
- Answering the telephone.
- Managing the Patch\βs (online triage) request.
- Dealing with all enquiries from patients attending the surgery.
- Booking and cancelling appointments.
- Booking in patients arriving for appointments.
- Dealing with non-clinical enquiries regarding prescriptions.
- Recording home visit requests.
- Tidying up waiting area and cliniciansβ rooms.
- Filing of notes, correspondence, results etc.
- Taking results via the telephone from hospitals.
- Telephoning patients with results / scans etc., at the doctorβs request.
- Telephoning patients when necessary.
- Attending staff practice meetings.
- Chaperoning for patients when necessary.
- Using SystmOne to send internal tasks, access patient records, send internal and external messages, write patient correspondence.
About the Candidate
You must be a team player with excellent communication skills, telephone manner and have the ability to work under pressure. You will have the following skills / ability:
- Strong inter-personal and prioritisation skills.
- Committed to delivering a quality service, be a team player and proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement them.
- Plan ahead and respond to changes and understand the impact that these changes can have on the overall service delivery of the practice.
- Engage effectively and handle interactions with a wide range of stakeholders and be comfortable with providing advice and support.
- General Practice and SystmOne experience is preferable.
