Contract and Hours

Permanent contract (52 weeks) with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30‑16:30. Flexibility around a term‑time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances.

Salary and Bonus

Up to ÂŁ53,200 (FTE, depends on experience) plus a ÂŁ3,000 Welcome Bonus: ÂŁ1,500 after one month and ÂŁ1,500 after the final probation period.

Essential Criteria

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Some relevant experience working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Basic knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams in a range of settings
  • Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
  • Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgmental skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good time‑management and organisational skills
  • Competence in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of a range of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies, and ability to formulate support plans based on needs profiles
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication
  • Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent or have SEMH needs
  • Maintain a therapeutic caseload under the guidance of a clinical supervisor and site lead
  • Provide staff training and consultation as required
  • Uphold safeguarding culture and support pupils to be heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect them
  • Work in line with the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and other professional requirements
