Location: Longdon Hall School, Near Lichfield, Staffordshire WS15 4PT

Salary: Up to £44,000.00 per annum (dependent on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday 8.30am – 4.30pm (CPD); Tuesday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only – Start: April 2026

About the Role

Every young person deserves a high quality, inclusive education that recognises their individual strengths and needs. As a SEN Teacher with an English specialism, you will design and deliver structured yet flexible English programmes tailored to pupils with SEND, teaching on a one-to-one and small-group basis. Your work will focus on functional communication, literacy development and transferable skills that support learning across the curriculum. You will also be part of our 4-Day Working Week trial – working 80% of contractual hours for 100% of pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English teaching to individuals and small groups.
  • Assess, track and report on pupil progress to inform planning and intervention.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of English provision across key stages.
  • Support whole-school improvement in line with strategic priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across education and care to ensure consistency.
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding, regulatory and professional standards.

About You

  • Qualified: UK QTS or equivalent, with a relevant degree and a full UK driving licence.
  • Experienced: Strong understanding of SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties and complex needs.
  • Compassionate & resilient: Able to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have faced significant challenges.
  • Collaborative: Clear communicator who thrives in a team environment.
  • Creative & flexible: Able to adapt and innovate to meet individual needs.
