As an SEN Teacher with an English specialism, you will play a key role in delivering this provision, using language and literacy to support communication, engagement, and academic progress.

You will design and deliver structured yet flexible English programmes tailored to pupils with SEND, teaching on a one-to-one and small-group basis. Your work will focus on functional communication, literacy development, and transferable skills that support learning across the curriculum and beyond. Teaching will be informed by assessment, professional judgement, and a clear understanding of each pupil’s learning profile.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to personalised learning pathways and help create a consistent, supportive educational environment. Safeguarding, wellbeing, and progress will remain central to your practice at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English teaching to individuals and small groups
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress to inform planning and intervention
  • Lead and contribute to the development of English provision across key stages
  • Support whole-school improvement in line with strategic priorities

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified: UK QTS or equivalent, with a relevant degree and a full UK Driving Licence
  • Experienced: Strong understanding of SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties, and complex needs
  • Compassionate & Resilient: Able to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have faced significant challenges
