We are looking for a Power BI Specialist for our Houston branch located in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver or Toronto to join our team focusing on Microsoft’s Analytics stack, including Power BI and Azure technologies. The role of Power BI Specialist you will be responsible for driving value through Microsoft’s Analytics stack, inclusive of Power BI, and accompanying Azure technologies.
A Day in the Life
- Work with internal and external stakeholders driving value through Microsoft’s Analytics stack, inclusive of Power BI, Dataverse, and accompanying Azure technologies.
- Ensure solution design, and implementations solve clients’ requirements and challenges.
- Driving workshops with clients to understand their dashboard and reporting requirements.
- Creating wireframes to visualize reporting requirements.
- Modeling data in Power BI.
- Metrics & Advanced Calculations via Data Analysis Expressions.
- Deploying Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Client Education on Power BI & Training.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience working as a report developer with proficiency in Power BI.
- Experience with tools such as Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong proficiency with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query (M).
- Experience with Azure data services (Data Factory, SQL, Blob Storage, Synapse, Databricks, Fabric).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management, crisis management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- A proven ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders to:
- Elicit/understand requirements.
- Define the high-level business case the solution provides.
- Lead architectural design sessions.
- Define implementation approaches.
- Guide customers’ decision making to ensure implemented solutions are sustainable.
