Long Trail School is seeking reliable, flexible, and caring substitute teachers to support our students and faculty when teachers are absent. Substitute teachers help maintain a positive and productive learning environment by following lesson plans, supervising students, facilitating classroom activities, and ensuring continuity of learning.
Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans and directions provided by classroom teachers
- Supervise and support students in grades 6–12
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Take attendance and communicate any important concerns or information to the appropriate faculty or administrator
- Support students with classwork and activities as needed
- Be flexible and willing to support different classes and grade levels
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Dependable, flexible, and professional
- Ability to create a supportive and respectful environment for students
- A bachelor's degree or teaching experience is preferred but not required
