A Year 7 Class Teacher is required for a special school in the Bath area, focusing on students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a full-time, long-term, permanent position starting in September.
The role involves leading a Year 7 class of 7 students, following the primary curriculum, with support from 2 teaching assistants (TAs). Full teaching responsibilities include planning and marking lessons, with adequate time provided for PPA (no students are in on Friday afternoons).
It is essential to have experience working with SEMH or ASD students, as they may exhibit challenging behaviour. The school welcomes applications from ECTs, experienced mainstream teachers, or SEN teachers looking for a change.
You will be expected to:
