A Year 4 Class Teacher is required for a special school in the Bath area, focusing on students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a full-time, long-term, permanent position starting in September.

The role involves leading a Year 4 class of 8 students, supported by 2 teaching assistants (TAs). Full teaching responsibilities include planning and marking lessons, with adequate time provided for PPA (no students are in on Friday afternoons). Experience working with SEMH or ASD students is essential due to the challenging behaviour that may arise.

You will be expected to:

  • Have confidence in leading your TAs and help develop their skillsets
  • Plan and mark your own lessons
  • Deescalate challenging situations
  • Get involved in all aspects of school life
