This nursery in the BS16 area is looking for a Nursery Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This nursery provides a safe environment where children can explore, experiment, plan and make decisions for themselves. The Role

A nursery assistant supports the care and development of young children in a safe, engaging environment. They help with daily routines, assist in activities that promote learning and social skills, and ensure the nursery remains clean and well-organized. The role also involves observing children's progress and working closely with staff and parents to support each child's individual needs.

You will be expected to:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children in your care
  • Support children's learning and development through play and structured activities
  • Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities
  • Help with feeding, changing nappies, and toileting
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment, including cleaning toys and equipment
  • Observe and record children's progress and report to senior staff or parents
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Support emotional, social, and physical development of children
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures
  • Set up and pack away resources and play areas
  • Encourage good behaviour and social skills
  • Attend staff meetings and relevant training sessions
